Eko Disco Implements Critical Management Overhaul and Salary Harmonization

In a bold move aimed at streamlining operations and ensuring fairness among its employees, the Management Board of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has reaffirmed recent management changes and announced plans to harmonize salaries and conditions of service for all staff members.

Chairman of Eko Disco’s Board of Directors, Mr. Dere Otubu, addressed speculation regarding the dissolution of the former management led by Dr. Tinuade Sanda. He clarified that there would be no reversal of the decision and emphasized the withdrawal of seconded staff from West Power & Gas (WPG), along with the appointment of an interim leadership team headed by Acting CEO Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh.

Otubu dismissed rumors of WPG staff returning to Eko Disco, asserting that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) had not nullified any actions taken by the Board. He reiterated that all acting roles, including that of the Acting CEO, would remain in place.

The withdrawal of WPG secondees is aimed at facilitating the direct employment of qualified staff within Eko Disco, Otubu explained. He emphasized the Board’s commitment to ensuring uniform conditions of service and a standardized payroll structure for all employees.

Furthermore, Otubu announced plans for the harmonization of salary structures to eliminate earnings disparities, noting that the process was ongoing.

Despite ongoing realignment efforts, Otubu expressed confidence in the company’s workforce and urged employees to remain focused on their responsibilities. He cautioned against misinformation and reaffirmed the Board’s authority as the highest governing body of Eko Disco.

With these developments, Eko Disco reaffirmed its commitment to creating a more equitable and cohesive work environment as it moves forward with its management overhaul.
