Group Calls On Uzodimma To Address Infrastructural Neglect Of Mbaitoli

Mbaitoli Media Vanguard, a collective of media professionals and concerned entrepreneurs dedicated to championing the interests of Mbaitoli, has voiced its deep concern regarding the persistent neglect of Mbaitoli Local Government Area in critical infrastructure.

The release signed by the General Secretary Lod Onyeji of Mbaitoli Media Vanguard underscores a recurring pattern where politicians, seeking support during elections, have consistently failed to deliver on promises made to the Mbaitoli community during campaigns.
According to the statement this has resulted in a severe dearth of essential amenities for the citizens, exacerbating the challenges faced by the local population.

Citing a prominent example, the Vanguard points to the appointment of Mr. Madumere as the state deputy governor during Governor Rochas Okorocha’s tenure, saying despite the significance of this position, Mbaitoli experienced a glaring lack of governmental attention, leading to deteriorating infrastructure and impassable roads.
“Specific attention is drawn to the once-significant Ukwuorji to Atta Ikeduru route, now marred by neglect and erosion. The Orie Ogbaku market on the major Owerri/Onitsha road is also identified as requiring urgent facelift and upgrading. Ogbaku-Ifakala-Nwaorieubi road, Ogbaku-Lawa-Nkwo Ubomiri road, the road leading to Nkwo-Orodo from Nwaoreubi among others.
“There’s also the need to urgently fix the or reconstruct the dilapidated public primary and secondary Schools in Mbaitoli”.

The Group noted that the flagrant and audacious disdainful neglect of even the premises housing the Mbaitoli Local Government is highly unimaginable.
It also raised questions about the reasons behind and prolonged neglect, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability from elected leaders. “Our people have been neglected for too long, and it is time for us to feel the impact of good governance,” the statement declared.
Directly addressing Governor Hope Uzodinma, the Mbaitoli Media Vanguard passionately appeals for the prioritization of comprehensive road construction within the region, saying the deplorable state of Mbaitoli’s roads not only obstructs local movement but also stifles economic activities crucial for community development.
The Vanguard urges the allocation of immediate funds and a commitment to timely project completion, seeking concrete actions to rectify the longstanding infrastructure deficit.

While congratulating Governor Hope Uzodinma and his deputy on their recent victory in the gubernatorial election, the Mbaitoli Media Vanguard emphasizes that having a second deputy governor from Mbaitoli is deemed insufficient compensation. The Vanguard calls for tangible measures to redress historical neglect and uplift the community through strategic development initiatives.
