NEPC  Holds Post-Fair Evaluation For Exporters, As Grandma Foods, Komsy Ventures Others Share Experiences
The Nigerian Export Promotion Council(NEPC) Monday at MAN Head-office in Ikeja,Lagos held a post-fair monitoring &evaluation exercise  on international fairs and exhibition for mainly Nigerian exporters in the small and medium-scale business category .
Speaking at the event the Managing Director of Grandma Foods,Udo Akwara praised the standard of Nigerian produced goods and services but pointed out that all those in the export value chain whether it be Custom Officials, those in Quarantine services and others needs to be effectively trained to up the ease of export in the Country.
The Managing Director noted that this needs to be done in order to improve the situation of things in our export sector, adding also that the issues of financial support is limiting some exporters even as the Grandma founder campaigned for more grants for exporters.
For the CEO of Komsy Ventures ltd.Ololade Ibrahim  who just came back from an international fair in Sudan Nigerian made  products don’t  have problems of standardization compared to other African nations ,saying as some one in the Fashion business She does not have the right to talk for others in perishable businesses.
Hence She said as someone in fashion jewery,Nigerian Gemstones, beaded fabrics etc that her patronage has been there in the various fairs attended across Africa.
But in her own view MD\CEO of JDP Global Concept,Okikiola Fakoya was of the view that Nigeria brands do much better in Europe and America where you have a lot of Nigerians than in Africa, maintaining that her recent experience in the recent international fairs in Togo,Ghana and Ivory Coast justified her position.
According to her the impression one gets is that Africans are afraid of Nigeria’s products superiority and are therefore hostile to Nigerian product and businesses. She pointed out that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is not yet working across Africa and the earlier efforts are made to improve its work-ability the better.
The CEO of Nigerian Export PromotionCouncil, Ezra Yakusak who was represented at the event thanked the exporters for their overall contribution to the betterment of the  nation’s economy, stressing that NEPC is available 24 hours to support them in their overall interest.
