LASPPPA Frowns  At  Engaging  Underage For  Construction Works 
Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, LASPPPA, has expressed serious concern on the use of underage persons at Construction sites saying the practice which is on the rise should stop forthwith. 
The General Manager, Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, (LASPPPA), Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike said that the  Monitoring and Compliance Unit of the Authority observed the trend in all its 41 District Offices across the State during its weekly enforcement exercise.
While saying that the Authority frowns at the act, the General Manager called on Property Owners and Developers to desist from using children as labourers at construction sites which according to him is tantamount to child abuse.
Lamenting the negative effect of child abuse, Osinaike said child abuse which is the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, also includes the use of underage persons for Construction works which mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful.
Osinaike said that there is need to stop the practice in order not to expose underage children to physical activities that is beyond their abilities or that can make them susceptible to physical disabilities.
The General Manager, however, urged all Property Owners and Developers in Lagos State, to always seek the services of experienced professionals in the built sector before embarking on building any structure as against using quarks.
The Director, Monitoring and Compliance Unit, Tpl. Iyiola Olarinde said apart from the child labourers issue, there is also need to be security conscious about those who are engaged to work on sites with detailed information about where they live and other necessary information.
He told Property Owners and Developers to always make sure that all the people at construction sites make use of their safety kits appropriately like Hamlet, Safety booth, Reflective jacket, etc.
The District Areas which the enforcement exercise took place in recent time are: Oriade, Eti-Osa South & North, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ajah, Amuwo, Surulere, Egbe-Idimu, Oshodi, Kosofe, Agboyi Ketu/Ikosi, Yaba, Mushin,
