Fuel Scarcity Bites Hard In Lagos As Fuel Sells As Much N700 Per Litre

Scarcity  Fuel has persisted in Lagos as few petrol stations selling the product as much N700 per a litre.

This scarcity has also brought untold hardship to Lagosians as many are left with no alternative than to trek long distances.
Investigations by our Correspondent reveal that many petrol stations along the busy Abeokuta Express road were not selling leaving in it’s trail long  queues that blocked the major road. This is causing traffic bottleneck.
According to motorists who where hanging around the petrol stations  hoping to buy, the dealers are hoarding the product and prefer to sale to black marketers(touts) who sell  as much as N700 per litre.
The motorists say the managers of the filling stations prefer to sell at night to the touts and desperate buyers who are willing to buy at any price.
The Head of Nigerian Midstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency, Mr Farouk Ahmed, had assured Nigerians of adequate fuel supply following claims that fuel with high methanol has been withdrawn from circulation.
However, that seems not to be the case as the shortage of petrol in Lagos worsening by the day.
