NGX ASI Increases By 1.04% Amid Bargain Hunting On Seplat, Conoil, Others

The NGX All Share-index on Tuesday rose by 1.04 per cent  to close at 47,111.21 points amid bargain hunting on shares of SEPLAT, CONOIL, PRESCO, WAPCO, Zenith Bank and GTCO.                       Hence, their respective share prices increased by 10.00 per cent , 9.79 per cent , 8.75 per cent , 5.47 per cent , 4.99 per cent  and 4.09 per cent. Consequently the year-to-date gain of the local bourse rose by 10.29 per cent  even as the Exchange printed a higher number of gainers (36) than losers (21).              Given the northward movement in the benchmark index,performance across sub-indices came in positive except for the NGX Consumer Goods Index which fell by 0.05 per cent .                                The NGX Banking Index, NGX Insurance Index,NGX Oil/ Gas Index and NGX Industrial Index rose by 2.59 per cent , 0.64 per cent, 5.77 per cent  and 0.85 per cent respectively.                       Meanwhile, market transactions was mixed as the volume of stocks traded today increased by 8.96 per cent to N341.52 million while the value of stocks traded fell by 26.66% to N 3.69 billion. Elsewhere, NIBOR rose for mostm maturitiestracked on renewed financial liquidity strain.
