JIFORM Hails Babandede, Celebrates ACG Emenike’s Elevation
The Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) on Tuesday showered encomium on the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammad Babandede, MFR over his approval leading to the promotion of new sets of senior officers in the service.
The media body with over 300 journalists covering migration matters across the continents said it received with excitement the elevation of the Comptroller of the Cross Rivers State Immigration Command, Ijeoma Chidi Emenike, Mni to the position of the Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACG).
Ajibola Abayomi, the President of JIFORM in a statement praised the CGI whom he described as a leader grooming his subordinates as better successors to his office.
“We congratulate the hardworking ACG Emenike for this deserving feat. Over the years, several reports about her performances have singled her out as an extraordinary officer. This promotion has come at a time when Babandede in his usual element is continuing his unprecedented revolution in the service.
“He is living up to his word months ago when the JIFORM had an interview with him. I was impressed when he said the best legacy he craved was to leave the office and be remembered as a CIG that produced a better successor. Looking at the series of enhancement programmes and motivations under Babandede, we need no soothsayer to tell us he is leading the NIS in the right path and positioning it for the best.
“Today on behalf of the over 300 journalists under the umbrella of JIFORM across the world, we are saluting ACG Emenike Mni for this well deserved rank. She is one officer that is so passionate about capacity development for media practitioners and the unity of Nigeria.
“Her foot print at the NIS Cross River State Command is a record to behold. I remember with nostalgia an historic presentation she delivered while representing the CGI in Calabar on April 22 during the state’s migration summit. What an excellent officer and a born orator” Ajibola noted.
