Gunmen Attack Former CBN Gov Soludo, Kill Security Aides

The rising insecurity in the country is taking a frightening dimension with security agencies and governments seem overwhelmed.

Gunmen on Wednesday attacked former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo in his Anambra home community, Isuofia, at the Town Hall while having an interactive session with some members of the community.

Two policemen were allegedly killed in the process, according to a statement by his media aide, Christian Aburime.

Soludo is a leading aspirant for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket in the November governorship election in the state.

Though the precise location of Soludo is currently unknown, but reports indicate that he was able to escape the attack unhurt.

The Commissioner for Public Utilities, incidentally, his brother-in-law, was however taken away by the gunmen.
