MAJAN President Congratulates Hadiza Usman On Reappointment As NPA MD

The President, Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Comrade Ray Ugochukwu, has congratulated Hadiza Bala Usman, on her reappointment as the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for a second term of five years.

Ugochukwu, a seasoned Journalists and Editor-in-chief of the Powerful Pen Newspaper, described Bala Usman’s reappointment as an honour well deserved.

According to him, “Her reappointment will ensure continuity in policies implementation geared towards development and growth of the port industry in Nigeria.

He mentioned perennial traffic gridlock on ports access roads as one of the major tasks before NPA.

The MAJAN President called on port users and relevant stakeholders in the maritime industry to support NPA in ensuring that the port industry is well re-positioned for greater productivity.

He advised, “As a regulatory Agency in the maritime industry, NPA is saddled with enormous tasks and stakeholders must work in synergy with the Authority to move the industry forward” .

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the re-appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for another five-year tenure.

The President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, who confirmed this in a statement on Thursday, revealed that the president also approved the reconstitution of the Non-Executive Board of the NPA, with Mr Emmanuel Olajide Adesoye (from South-west zone), as Chairman.

Other members of the Board are: Ekenyem Nwafor-Orizu (South-east zone), Akinwunmi Ricketts (South-south zone), Ghazali Mijinyawa (North-East zone), Mustapha Amin Dutse (North-West zone), and Abdulwahab Adesina (North-Central zone).
