NCDC Reports 404 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Cases Now 42, 208

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ,NCDC, on Wednesday night announced 404 new cases of coronavirus.

This addition has increased the numbers of infections in the country  to 42,208.

The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle, also announced 873 as the total number of deaths from the virus, while it put the number of recoveries at 19,004.

As of July 29, the confirmed coronavirus death toll on the African continent stood at 18,160. There are 871,970 confirmed infections and 523,684 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

More than 16.8 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus. Some 9.9 million patients have recovered, and nearly 663,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
