COVID-19 Confirmed Cases In Nigeria Now 22,020

The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Nigeria is now  22,020 with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announcing 649 new cases  on Wednesday .s

NCDC  who released the figure via tweet also said 7,613 cases have been discharged and 542 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Meanwhile the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that the number of cases worldwide is expected to reach 10 million next week, warning that the virus has yet to peak in the Americas.

Coronavirus hospitalisations and caseloads have reached new highs in more than half a dozen states in the US, with newly confirmed cases nationwide back near their peak level of two months ago.

Nearly 9.2 million people around the world have been diagnosed with COVID-19, and nearly 475,000 have died, according to Johns Hopkins University.
