Kano State COVID-19 Cases Exceed 1000 Mark

Kano State on Monday night reported five new cases of coronavirus.

According to the data from the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, the total number of cases in Kano stands at 1004.

Kano is one of the most hit States by the novel coronavirus in the Northern part of the country since its outbreak in Nigeria.

As of Monday, the State has recorded 1004 cases, discharged 477 and recorded 49 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire has confirmed that almost 1,000 strange deaths recorded in Kano state were linked to the coronavirus disease.

The team investigating the mysterious deaths in the State on Monday confirmed that a total of 979 people died in eight local government areas of Kano State.

Ehanire said, “With circumstantial evidences as all to go by investigation suggests that between 50 to 60 per cent of the deaths may have been triggered by or due to COVID-19 in face of pre- existing ailments”.

Kano state government had said the deaths were caused by complications from hypertension, diabetes, meningitis and acute malaria and not COVID-19 pandemic.
