CIBN to Inaugurate New President, Bayo Olugbemi

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria ,CIBN, will inaugurate Mr. Bayo Williams Olugbemi, FCIB as the 21st President/Chairman of Council on Saturday, May 16, 2020, virtually (online) in Lagos
The Investiture, will attract dignitaries and critical stakeholders such as Chairmen and Chief Executives of banks, Past Presidents of the Institute, Presidents of other professional bodies, top Government functionaries, Fellows, Honourary Senior Members, Associates, International organisations,  among others in the virtual event.
According to a statement by the Head, Corporate Communication and External Relations, Nelson Olagundoye the Institute will ahead of the investiture, hold the 2020 presidential valedictory address by  the Outgoing President, Dr. Uche Olowu, FCIB which would take place on Friday, May 15, 2020 virtually (online) by 12.00 noon  in Lagos, with the theme: ‘Ethical Leadership in Banks and Emotional Intelligence’.
The event will also be used to give insight into Olowu’s accomplishment during his tenure.
The event will also attract top management of banks and other financial institutions, regulatory agencies, captains of industry, diplomats, government functionaries and other stakeholders.
The Institute which is the umbrella professional body for banks and bankers in Nigeria was established by extant law, CIBN Act No 5 of 2007 to determine the standards of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to become members of the banking profession; secure in accordance with the provisions of its Act, the establishment and maintenance of a register of members of the banking profession and conduct professional examinations leading to the award of certificates.
