Minister of Health, SON, NAFDAC, NDLEA Others for News Emperor Lecture

Some prominent personalities, stakeholders and key agencies of government have confirmed participation at the maiden edition of one day sensitization/awareness seminar on preventing drug abuse among the Youths.

The Lecture/ Seminar tagged News Emperor Magazines Sensitization Seminar (NEMSAS 2020) is package by of Richword Communication and Media Services, the publishers of News Emperor Magazine.

The Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire will declare the event open while the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali,  will be a Special Guest of Honour alongside other heads of other  government agencies and parastatals.

The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) amongs other key agencies of government and private companies have all indicated interest to be at the event and has equally shown their readiness to sensitize Nigeria youths and the general public on the inherent dangers of illicit drug addiction.

 The one day awareness seminar which will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Customs Training College (CTC), Ikeja, Lagos by 11:30 am is coming with the theme: “Nigerian Youths and the Danger of Drug Abuse”.

According to the organizers of the event the seminar is meant to expose Nigerian youths on the consequences of engaging in drug abuse and other social vices.

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs, Col Ali (Rtd.) will be presenting a paper on “The Danger of Smuggling Illicit and Dangerous Substances into the country”.

 The event will also have in attendance the  Zonal ACG and will be officiated by the Commandant of the Customs College, Ikeja, Comptroller A.B. Hamisu psc.

 According to the Chairman Planning Committee of the NEMSAS 2020, Comrade Ralph Agbogu, who is also the CEO of Sovereign Gate International Limited, the seminar would be beneficial to all especially the youths.

“It is very important to make it a public discourse the growing cases illicit drug abuse among the nation’s youths. The seminar will be an avenue to correct this ugly trend as experts will be on ground”, the committee chairman said.

 Comrade Agbogu, who is equally the National Public Relations Officer of National Council of Managing Director of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA) also assured participants of a well packaged event.

 According to the publisher of News Emperor magazine,  Pastor Ambrose Obioma, the purpose of the seminar is to create awareness and sensitize the Nigerian youths and the general public on the ills of engaging in anything that have to do with drug.

 He added that the one day even will be an eye opener for the young generation of Nigerian youths.

Pastor Okehi said: “We want to use the instrumentalities of the media, as agenda setters, opinion molders, and as the watch dog of the society, by liaising with other media organizations and those in authorities as well as security agencies in Nigeria to create the needed awareness over this social menace and its inherent danger and consequences to the Nigerian youths and the Society at large as a result of our youths engaging in these social vices mostly drug related issues.”
