Senate Grants Tinubu’s Request To Appoint 20 Special Advisers

The Senate has granted President Bola Tinubu’s request to appoint 20 special advisers.

The approval was granted on Tuesday after the request was read on the floor of the Senate by its President, Ahmad Lawan.

The names of the advisers were however not listed.

Tinubu has made less than 10 appointments since his inauguration on May 29.

After reading the letter, the Senate president called for its speedy consideration and approval because of its urgency.

“We feel this is something of utmost urgency,” he said.

Those earlier appointed included Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff, George Akume, the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Spokesman, Dele Alake.
