Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA Pays Courtesy On Eze Udo Aboru, Lagos, Ahead Election

Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area officials and chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress paid a courtesy call on Eze Udo in Aboru, one of the most populous districts of Alimosho Local Government of Lagos, as they woo voters ahead of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

The Vice Chairman of the LCDA, Alhaja Aminat Moromoke Ajoke-Obe, led the delegation to the palace of Eze Chris Anyigor, Eze akaekpuchionwa, Eze Udo na Aboru, Lagos State.

Alhaja Ajoke-Obe said they were on the visit as part of campaigns to the nooks and crannies of the local government to solicit support of the Igbos for the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term as governor of Lagos State.

She urged Eze Anyigor, as well as the Cabinet and Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Agbado Oko-Odo to come out en masse to re-elect Sanwo-Olu, adding that the governor means well for all residents in the state, irrespective of their state of origin, ethnic group or religion.

“APC won in Agbado Oko-Odo during the presidential election even though it lost in Alimosho Local Government to Labour Party’s Peter Obi but this time, we want to deliver the whole local government to Sanwo-Olu, so we can benefit maximally from his government,” she said.

The Vice Chairman said she made a strong case for the construction of hitherto abandoned Aboru bridge by the state government, stressing further that she made similar request for the taring of the 2.5 kilometres Aboru road stretching across the brindge and got assurances it would be done in the next Sanwo-Olu government. She urged the people to re-elect the incumbent governor to make the road project a reality.

In his response, Eze Chris Anyigor thanked Alhaja Adoke-Obe and her entourage for the courtesy visit. He applauded the Vice Chairman for facilitating the construction of the Aboru bridge and for starting talks on tarring the community road. He blessed the government and party officials and wished them the best of luck in actualising their governorship and political ambitions.

Responding to Alhaja Adoke-Obe’s demand for votes from the Igbo community in Aboru, an Igbo illustrious son and Ohanaeze chieftain in Lagos State, Chief Barrister lawrence kelechi Nweke, ihe ndi igbo, enjoined politicians in Lagos, especially the rulling APC to always integrate igbos in administration at party and government levels to give them a sense of belonging. He expressed concern that Lagos politicians only remember the Igbo when their votes matter for them to win elections and jettison them thereafter.

“If you carry the Igbo along in filling party and government positions, we won’t return here every four years to cajole the people to vote you again, as the matter would have been settled,” he said.

Also speaking, Triple Chief Omemma Onuoha, the Chairman of Ohanaeze Agbado Oke Odo LCDA thanked the Vice Chairman for the visit to the Igbo community. He pledged the support of the Igbo people and called for reciprocity from the LCDA in the event they win the election.

At present to receive the Vice Chairman’s delegation were other members of the Ohanaeze cabinet in Aboru, including the Onowu Eze Udo in Aboru, Chief kenneth Odigwe as well as well as Chief Emele Onu. Others were Chief Chike Mayor Agbo, ntumaburuenyi;
