ABU, EFCC Partner To Introduce Five New Anti-Corruption Courses

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has partnered with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to kickstart award of basic certificate, advanced certificate and postgraduate diploma in anti-corruption studies.

According to NAN, Kabir Bala, ABU’s vice-chancellor, broke the news on Thursday when he received a delegation led by Ladi Hamalai, acting commandant of the EFCC academy.

Bala said the varsity and the anti-graft agency have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to start five different programmes in anti-corruption studies.

The programmes, according to him, include economic and financial crimes studies, cybercrime investigation and cyber-security, forensic accounting as well as digital forensic.

Bala explained that the university would through its relevant units ensure quality control of each programme.

He added that the agreement would also facilitate the exchange of staff and, where necessary, students between the participating parties.

Hamalai had earlier reiterated the commission’s obligation to work with ABU to strengthen the collaboration by ensuring that the MoU signed by the two institutions was implemented.

The commandant said the delegation was specifically assigned to visit and congratulate Bala on his well-deserved appointment as the vice-chancellor at the instance of Ibrahim Magu, EFCC’s acting Chairman.
